China Power Shentou Company Wins Multiple Provincial Awards for Power Innovation Achievements

On July 22, the Shanxi Province Electric Power Association announced the results of the 2026 Shanxi Power Innovation Achievement Awards. China Power Shentou Power Generating Company Limited ("China Power Shentou") was awarded one Grand Prize and two First Prizes in recognition of its outstanding achievements, which are characterized by advanced technology, strong practicality, and significant potential for widespread application.

The company's award-winning innovations precisely targeted technical challenges and operational pain points in thermal power generation, and achieved precise breakthroughs by tackling key issues in the early warning of equipment failures, metal lifespan assessment, and retrofits for energy saving and consumption reduction. Among the achievements, the Optimization and Application of Permanent Magnet Speed Regulators for Condensate Pumps in Ultra-Supercritical Thermal Power Units was awarded the Grand Prize. By optimizing and upgrading the speed regulation system, the project effectively reduced the auxiliary power consumption rate of the units, greatly improved the economic efficiency of equipment operation, and achieved remarkable results in energy saving and quality improvement. Another two research achievements, the Study on Online Detection Methods for Inter-turn Short-Circuit Faults in High-Precision Generator Rotor Windings and the Study on the Early-Stage Deterioration of Dissimilar Steel Welded Joints in Thermal Power Units, were awarded First Prizes. Relevant technologies enable the early prediction and precise identification of potential hazards in major equipment, thus further improving the life cycle management and control system for metal parts of the units and building a technical barrier for the safe, reliable and long-term stable operation of equipment.

In recent years, the company has persisted in driving development through technological innovation; continuously deepened the mechanism of collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research institutions; formed research teams in conjunction with universities and research institutes; and solved technical bottlenecks and practical problems based on actual situation of the production line. The resulting innovations have won outstanding achievement awards at the provincial and municipal levels, contributing to the safe and stable operation of equipment, cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and talent development.
