China Power Changshu Thermal Power Unit No. 1 Receives CEC "AAA" Rating in Gas-Fired Generating Unit Energy Efficiency Benchmarking

On July 13, China Power Changshu Thermal Power received a commendation notice from the China Electricity Council (CEC), announcing that the company's gas-fired generating unit No. 1 had received an "AAA" rating in the 2025 energy efficiency benchmarking assessment for gas-fired generating units.

The assessment period coincided with the critical stage in improving the quality and efficiency of Unit No. 1 following its commissioning in September 2022. Through accurate assessment of Jiangsu Province's local policies for gas-fired combined heat and power generation, the company systematically planned and coordinated its work on safe production and business development. It flexibly adopted targeted, coordinated economic dispatching modes and continued to unlock the potential for economical operation of the equipment, keeping energy consumption and emissions indicators stable while steadily increasing heat supply and economic benefits. Leveraging its SIS digital strategic information system, the company established a regular energy consumption benchmarking and review mechanism to accurately analyze key indicators such as power generation, heat supply, and steam consumption. In response to frequent peak-shaving conditions, it refined standardized unit start-up and shutdown procedures, improved operating efficiency under variable conditions, and achieved both reliable peak-shaving support and gains in quality and efficiency.

During the period, the company successfully completed the first scheduled maintenance of Unit No. 1 since it entered operation. It rigorously implemented standardized maintenance procedures, comprehensively identified and rectified equipment risks, repaired operational wear, optimized core operating parameters, restored the unit to its designed energy efficiency level, and reinforced the foundation for safe and efficient operation of the equipment. At the same time, the company used its "Every Cent Counts for Quality and Efficiency Improvement" skills competition as a platform to encourage managers and employees to pursue energy conservation and consumption reduction in their respective roles. By optimizing combustion adjustment, refining operating condition controls, and improving operating procedures, the company further tapped energy-saving potential and continuously enhanced the unit's economical operating efficiency.
