China Power Shentou Achieves Landmark Revenue Milestone Through Strategic Market Optimization

On March 3, 2026, China Power Shentou achieved a significant financial breakthrough, generating over RMB 1 million in revenue for the first time from Shanxi Province's "Two Codes" energy assessment mechanism. According to the monthly results, the company recorded revenue of RMB 1.15 million in January 2026, with assessment penalties reduced by 78.6% year on year. This represents the first positive revenue from the mechanism since the plant's commissioning and lays a strong foundation for achieving its annual business targets.

Since the beginning of the year, China Power Shentou has elevated "Two Codes" performance to a strategic priority in its broader drive for operational excellence and efficiency improvement. The company established a rigorous "daily analysis, weekly review, and monthly summary" management framework to precisely identify penalty risks and revenue opportunities. Relying on its deep peak load regulation capability and flexibility retrofits, the company dynamically optimized its AGC (Automatic Generation Control) and AVC (Automatic Voltage Control) strategies. This led to significant improvements in frequency regulation accuracy and peak-shaving response speed, minimizing assessment penalties. Besides, a joint working mechanism between production and marketing teams enabled real-time monitoring of grid load and ancillary service prices, allowing for optimal unit operation. While maintaining the highest standards of grid safety and stability, the company actively participated in market-based ancillary services, including deep peak load regulation and reserve services, thus maximizing profitable power output and ancillary service revenue.

In January, the company implemented a focused initiative targeting Unit 3, which had historically incurred heavy "Two Codes" penalties due to an insufficient load ramp rate. In-depth operational analysis and targeted improvements dramatically enhanced the unit's load ramp rate and increased its maximum generating capacity from 920 MW to 950 MW.

Moving forward, China Power Shentou will remain committed to lean management, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. It will further refine its "Two Codes" management framework and unlock greater unit regulation potential to boost ancillary service revenue. This commitment to operational excellence and efficiency will strengthen its energy supply capacity and support the high-quality development of the company.
