Pingwei Power Achieves Simultaneous Grid-Connected Operation of All Seven Units for the First Time

At 9:34 on February 26, 2026, with the successful grid connection of #2 unit of Pingwei Power, #1 through #7 units of the company achieved simultaneous grid-connected operation for the first time.

It is reported that #7 unit of the Pingwei Phase IV project, in which China Power holds a stake, successfully completed the 168-hour full-load trial operation on February 9 and officially entered commercial operation. This brings the company's installed thermal power capacity to 5,540 MW, increasing its total installed capacity to 5,769 MW. This marks a key milestone in implementing SPIC's balanced growth strategy and building a first-class thermal power plant and a hybrid "thermal-wind-solar" energy cluster. Prior to the Spring Festival, in response to grid requirements, #2, #3, #6, and #7 units were shut down in an orderly manner and placed on standby. At the beginning of the new year, the company strictly executed grid dispatch orders, coordinated efficiently, and acted with precision. It completed the grid connection of #3, #6, and #7 units within two days on February 23 and 24, followed by #2 unit on February 26. By providing reliable power supply, the company is making every effort to ensure the security of energy supply in East China.

At present, #8 unit has completed its pre-box-up inspection and is nearing the completion of installation. Going forward, the company will strictly adhere to the timeline and high standards to carry out #8 unit startup and commissioning, steadily advance the handover of the new unit to production, and ensure the high‑quality completion of the Phase IV project. It will also continue to strengthen the operation and maintenance of existing units and new energy projects, striving to achieve a strong start to the 15th Five‑Year Plan period.
