China Power Hutubi 300 MW PV Power Project Achieves Full-Capacity Grid Connection in Xinjiang

On May 25, 2025, China Power Hutubi 300 MW PV Power Project successfully achieved full-capacity grid connection at 4:50 PM on its first attempt.

Located in Baiquan Village, Wugongtai Town, Hutubi County, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang, the project is a key renewable energy initiative for the region and a priority development for China Power Xinjiang Energy Investment Co., Ltd. Once operational, it is expected to generate 518 GWh of electricity annually, with a utilization rate of 1,359.57 full-load hours per year. The project will save approximately 131,000 tons of standard coal and reduce CO₂ emissions by 358,000 tons each year, delivering significant economic, environmental, and ecological benefits.

Despite challenges—including sandstorms, extended winter shutdowns, spring road instability hindering equipment transport, and complex coordination for shared substation—the team adopted shift-based work patterns to maximize progress. They completed the main construction phase in just 5 months (spanning the winter hiatus), ensuring timely grid connection. Moving forward, China Power Xinjiang will prioritize safety management, enhance refined management of renewable facilities, and bolster marketing efforts to advance the company's strategic goals in Xinjiang.
