CPID Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Stonewood Group

On July 12, 2023, Mr. He Xi, Chief Engineer (New Energy) of SPIC and Chairman of CPID, met with Sir John Phillip Key, the 38th Prime Minister of New Zealand and Director of ANZ Bank New Zealand, at CPID headquarters, and both sides witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CPID and Stonewood Group. Mr. Shou Rufeng, Vice President of CPID, attended the meeting.

Mr. He welcomed Sir John Phillip Key and the Stonewood delegation, and introduced the overall situation of CPID, especially the experience and advantages in PV power, wind power, PV power + new agriculture, PV power + building materials, energy storage industry, biomass power, green and smart transportation, and internationalization development. Mr. He said that CPID and Stonewood Group are actively promoting PV power projects and have made good progress, and CPID will give full play to its advantages of industrial upgrading, leading technology, abundant talents and other aspects, and continue to make efforts together with Stonewood Group to accelerate the early implementation of cooperative projects.

Sir John Phillip Key thanked CPID for the warm welcome, introduced New Zealand's rich geothermal, wind and solar energy resources and its plan to achieve 100% clean energy by 2035, and said that CPID and Stonewood Group will become a good model of cooperation with complementary advantages and mutual benefits, and hoped to realize the early implementation of the project with this cooperation opportunity, and take this as a starting point to cooperate on more new energy projects in New Zealand in the future.

Under the joint witness of the representatives, Mr. Shou signed the MOU with Stonewood Group on behalf of CPID. The MOU specifies the equity acquisition and transaction mode for PV power projects, the project control principles for the project company, the implementation mode for future projects, the responsibilities and rights of both parties in the development phase, and the key node plan for project development, and will lay a good foundation for accelerating the progress of project development and the next stage of negotiations on cooperation between the two parties.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the Environmental Protection Department, International Department, and Internationalization Talent Center of CPID.
