CPID Commissions Energy Storage System at Full Capacity for Mexico's First Government-Level Solar Power Project

Recently, China Power Energy Storage Development Limited (hereinafter referred to as "China Power Energy Storage"), a subsidiary of CPID, synchronized and put into operation the associated energy storage system for Mexico's first government-level solar power project, Puerto Peñasco Photovoltaic Power Station ("the Project"), at full capacity.

The first phase of the Project has an installed solar power capacity of 120 MW, and is equipped with a 12 MW/24 MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery energy storage system, which is provided by China Power Energy Storage. The energy storage products provided for the Project had been certified by an international third-party testing agency, ensuring compliance with international standards, and are more cost-effective than the products of competitors.

China Power Energy Storage has customized the "Puerto Peñasco Scheme" for the Project. In particular, the energy storage system employs LFP cells with high safety, high reliability, and large capacity, and the state-of-the-art 1500 V integration technology. For fire protection, an very early smoke detection and linked warning system is provided, added to which are multi-point warning and pipe network type perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing devices. In addition, a localized team is set up for the Project to ensure better service and maintenance.

In February this year, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, President of the United Mexican States, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Project and visited the energy storage project.
