No. 3 Wind Farm to the South of Shandong Peninsula Generates More than 100 GWh of Electricity in May

In May 2022, the No. 3 wind farm (300 MW) to the south of Shandong Peninsula generated more than 100 GWh of electricity, a new high since the project was put into operation.

In order to maximize the output of wind farms, Shandong Power Generation Company effectively promoted the quality and efficiency improvement of existing assets, kept an eye on the weather forecast and the wind power forecasting system, accurately analyzed equipment faults and safety hazards, and properly arranged offshore equipment maintenance, defect elimination and inspection. Focus was put on equipment operation and data monitoring, to ensure efficient and stable full-load operation of the wind turbines. Underperforming wind turbines were thoroughly checked and improved to increase their efficiency. The power curves of the all wind turbines were optimized, leading to daily availability up to 99.95% and significantly improved power generation efficiency.
